Religious Education

At The Milford Academy, we are committed to making sure that our pupils become well-rounded citizens who contribute positively to their community. RE links to this, as it provides children the opportunity to be curious, ask questions and explore the lives of different faiths and cultures. Clifton is becoming an increasingly diverse community and our RE curriculum reflects this. British values are promoted by challenging pupils to be increasingly respectful and to celebrate diversity of different cultures, faiths and beliefs. The discovery of other world views enables them to develop their own ideas, values and identity.

Through RE, we foster curiosity and enjoyment in exploring different faiths and cultures, helping pupils understand how religious beliefs shape the way people live their lives. This includes acts of worship, rites of passage, celebrations, and interactions with others. Our RE lessons provide a safe space for reflection, discussion, dialogue, and debate, where pupils can explore diverse perspectives and, when necessary, challenge opinions or behaviours that contradict British values. Ultimately, our pupils will develop the confidence to articulate clear and coherent accounts of their personal beliefs while respecting the rights of others to hold different views.

Please have a look at the documents below that outline, in detail, the RE curriculum our pupils experience.
