SEMH

Here at The Milford Academy, we strive to provide an effective and enjoyable teaching and learning environment, where children, parents and staff work together and thrive.  We aim to promote the mental and physical health and emotional wellbeing for us all. Wellbeing is at the forefront of the school’s curriculum and promoting good mental health is a priority.

At Milford Academy, Mental Health is described as a state of mind- how we feel, think and act- and is the basis of how we steer through everyday life and respond to everyday ups and downs. The range of social and emotional support offered to our children at Milford Academy can be found in the school's SEND Information Report.

SEMH support for children is also accessible to parents from the organisations listed below which can all be found online. These websites look at ways to improve your child's mental health using a number of different strategies: effective ways to talk to them; fun activities to try together and suggestions to help stay connected with others. Some websites also have parental referral systems if you feel additional SEMH support at home and in school would benefit your child.
