Safeguarding

Dear Parents/Carers

The safeguarding of children at The Milford Academy is our top priority. Please follow the link below to our Safeguarding Policy which is reviewed annually and is being updated in partnership with Nottingham Schools Trust in November 2018.

All of our staff receive regular Safeguarding updates and training with our latest INSET day on Safeguarding being Friday October 26th 2018. Safeguarding essentially covers all aspects of children’s lives including Child Protection. The trained designated leads for Safeguarding at Milford are:

Mr D Magner                     Head Teacher

Ms V Grinnell                    Deputy Head Teacher

Ms N Atamaniuk              SENCO

Mrs L Butler                       Achievement Manager

Mrs Butler also has the responsibility to monitor all identified vulnerable pupils at the Academy and liaises with Mr Magner and Ms Grinnell to ensure all our pupils thrive at the Academy.

Senior Leaders regularly attend the Nottingham City Designated Lead conferences to ensure the Academy meets all legal requirements, adopts “Best Practice” procedures and reads and understands the latest guidance and legislation e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2018.

If any parent or carer requires any further information or has any safeguarding concerns please contact Mr Magner or Ms Grinnell on 01159 152951.
