Safeguarding and the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. At The Milford Academy we take our responsibilities in this area very seriously and have robust systems and procedures in place to ensure that our children are safe, happy and well looked after. Mrs Louise Butler and Ms Vi Grinnell are Designated Safeguarding Lead Person (DSL) for child protection & safeguarding issues at The Milford Academy.
If you have a concern or a member of staff has a concern it can be reported confidentially to either of the designated people. All staff have a valid DBS certificate, recorded on our Single Central Register, which is kept in the office. All Governors also all have valid DBS certificates.
The School Policy for Safeguarding is updated in line with Local Authority Guidance and Regulations. Our policy and procedures for safeguarding are also reviewed and approved by Governors on an annual basis.
ALL STAFF RECEIVE REGULAR TRAINING AROUND SAFEGUARDING.
DESIGNATED PERSONS RECEIVE UPDATES TO TRAINING EVERY 2 YEARS AND ATTEND TERMLY DSL NETWORKS.

At The Milford Academy, we constantly strive to improve outcomes with high aspirations and expectations for all children. The Milford Academy is a mainstream school, fully committed to providing exclusive experiences for all pupils who can take part in a broad and balanced curriculum, so that they can all achieve and succeed. This will enable all to achieve their best, become confident forward thinking individuals and ensure our pupils leave is with the like skills they need for their future education.
