Class 9 and 10 worked with two artists as part of the Nottingham Contemporary Partnership project. Sian and Peter visited the Milford Academy to follow on from the inspiring Gallery visit. Within the workshops, pupils used photographs, pastel portraits, the written word and 3D modelling to explore ideas from the gallery exhibition. We are really exploring art in all its forms!
Look out for our developing art work…
We are going to write an explanation text all bout electricity in our English sessions but before we start that, we need to know all about it! We have built up our scientific knowledge of electricity and now we know the following: what electricity actually is; where electricity comes from; what conductors and insulators are; how circuits work; and components and symbols for circuits.
We investigated series and parallel circuits.
Using a plasma ball to help, we learned how lightning is created.
On Friday the 1st of December, the children will each be able to bring in one toy to play with as a reward for filling our class marble jar. Please do not allow your child to bring in any electronic toys and ensure that all toys are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
This week the children have been learning what advent is and why it is important to Christians.
We have made our own Advent Wreaths.
Our Foundation Stage Nativity Play this year is called “A King Is Born!”
We will be performing it 4 times :
- Thursday 14th December at 10.00am and 2.00pm
- Friday 15th December at 10.00am and 2.00pm
Tickets will be available from your child’s teacher from Monday 4th December. Please don’t go to the main office because they won’t be able to help you.
To begin with, we will allocate each family 2 tickets on a first come, first served basis as there is a limit for fire safety. Any remaining tickets will become available from Monday 11th December.
