The Cubs and Monkeys have been consistently displaying the Milford Academy values this half term. They have filled their marble jars by working hard and not giving up, thinking about what they are doing, listening carefully to the adults and looking after each other as well as showing some responsibility for their own work and equipment.
They decided they would like a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, which we held on Thursday morning because the weather has been too hot in the afternoons. We played games with our teddies and shared a yummy breakfast picnic including strawberries.
Monkeys and Cubs joined in with the school culture day to learn a little bit about China. They were fascinated by the fact that one country could be so big that there were very cold parts and very hot parts. We could not imagine the size of the Great Wall of China.
We took part in several craft and creative activities, including making snakes, dragons and drums.
Working on the Chinese Flag
We have been completing lots of work on measuring in Class 10. The children have measured their heights, head circumference, the tables and even the hall way! The children then converted these measurements into different units of measure.
Dear all parents and carers,
On Monday the children were given letters about an upcoming Y5 trip to Belvoir Castle. This trip is on Thursday 15th June and school are asking for a £10 contribution towards the cost.
Please could you ensure that any permission slips and money is placed in an envelope with the name and class number of your child clearly marked, this then can be posted through the black post box at the main school reception. If we could have these in asap then it would be much appreciated. Please note, if your child requires at sandwich bag for the day then please notify myself or Mr Goff by Monday 12th June.
If you have any questions or queries about this trip then feel free to come and see me.
Class 3 have filled their marble jar!
As a special treat, I have told the children they can bring their favourite toy into school on Friday for a toy afternoon!
Please make sure the toy your child brings isn’t too valuable to avoid disappointment if anything gets broken or lost.
Any further questions, please ask.
