Reading Books

Dear all parents and carers,

I will be collecting the class reading books in on Thursday this week (30th March) as it is the last school day of this term for pupils. Therefore please make sure that your child has their reading book in for then.

The children will have specific homework to complete during the holidays and this will be handed out on Thursday. It is reminded that due to the two week holiday, the children will need to complete five activities/tasks from the homework that is given to them.

If you have any questions then please feel free to contact me.

Many thanks

Mrs Hickling

Foundation Stage Easter Stay and Play Day

Don’t forget it’s the Foundation Stage Easter Stay and Play day on Tuesday 28th March.  Families are invited to spend the session with us; making Easter crafts, having Easter egg hunts outside and of course we can’t forget the parents painting competition! You will have the opportunity to spend time with your child in Nursery and the Foundation 2 classes.

The session times are as follows:

Morning session – 9am-11am

Afternoon session – 1pm-3pm

We will be having an Easter bonnet parade in the morning and afternoon.  There will be prizes for the winners and a little something for every child that has taken part.  Please bring your bonnets in the morning (or afternoon if your child has an afternoon Nursery space) with their name clearly visible.

There will also be some pocket money toys to buy if you wish.

We can’t wait to see you!

Fairtrade chocolate fruit kebabs

This week Class 8 became chefs for a day. They considered hygiene as they prepared to make the kebabs, washing hands and surfaces carefully. As the kebabs were made, children showed excellent cutting skills with plastic knives, taking care and developing precision. The finishing touch was drizzling fairtrade chocolate over the fruit kebabs. Of course we needed to taste and evaluate our finished fruit kebabs!
