We’re Going on a Bug Hunt!

Class 10 have been on a bug hunt! As part of our Science work on Habitats we explored the school bug garden and noted down what insects we found and where we found them. We found ants, beetles, spiders, larvae and slugs.

Road Safety Quiz 2017

Dear parents and carers,

This morning, Class 11 participated in the Road Safety Quiz with Year 5 and 6. The total average of correct answers from the Year 5 and 6 pupils was 79% which is very good. I would however, encourage your child to read the Road Safety Quiz leaflet that they were given to reinforce how to keep safe on the road whether they’re on foot or bike.

Many thanks

Mrs Hickling

Stay and Play Day – Tuesday 31st January

Stay and Play session

Family members are welcome to join us for a Stay and Play session on Tuesday 31st January.  You are welcome to attend during your child’s usual session or all day if you like (you will have to make your own arrangements for lunch).

Stay and Play sessions provide opportunities for you to see what and how your child learns at Nursery.  It is a chance to spend time with your child, play alongside them whilst exploring different activities and observe their daily maths and phonics session.

We will be learning all about Chinese New Year during that week and we will have lots of fun creative activities for you to join in with.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We have something new and exciting to share with you!

We have something new and exciting that we can’t wait to share with you!

We are currently trialling an online journal that allows us to share photos and observations of your child at Nursery with you.  We know that many children, after a busy session at Nursery, when asked what they have been doing give the response ‘nothing’ or ‘I don’t know.’  This program gives you the chance to see different things that your child has been doing and the achievements they have made, which you can then talk about further at home and share with family.

The program is also 2 ways and gives you the opportunity to take photos of your child when they have done something exciting at home, such as doing some baking or getting their next swimming badge, and posting them to the journal for us to see.

If you would like to find out more information about this new exciting opportunity, we will be holding another meeting to show you how to use the journal on:

  • Friday 27th January @ 2.15pm in the MOOSE room (enter the school by the office)

At this meeting you will be given your unique password that allows you to log on to the program. The program is password protected and only you will be able to see your child’s journal.  Please note we are not able to give out pass codes unless you have attended a meeting.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Mrs Smith
