Reading Books

Dear parents and carers,

Your child received a letter on Monday (30th January) regarding school reading books. These books were collected in as each child will be having a new book after half-term which will be both their reading and guided reading book.

From now until after half-term your child will not be receiving a school book as we need to audit our current stock and order more texts where necessary. Please encourage your child to continue completing the reading challenges in their Reading Diaries until then. They can also read books from home, information off the internet and newspapers to write about in their diaries.

Many thanks

Mrs Hickling

Poetry Performance!

Class 8 have been performing rainforest poems. You would be amazed at the way we used volume and expression in our voices to bring the poems alive. We also created amusing actions to entertain our audience!

Fantastic Reading Diary Entries

Here are a few examples of the standard we expect for the Reading Diaries.

Thank you to all the children and their families for all their hard work.

We hope you continue to enjoy the new Reading Diary tasks!

Class Reward

The marble jar is nearly full again. This is due to the continued hard work in Class 4. All the children are aware of ‘The Milford Values’ and are doing their best to follow them. One child is only 1 tick away from earning  a silver band which is very exciting!

The children voted and have decided to have an afternoon of wheels action!  On either Tuesday 7th February or Thursday 9th February all the class can bring in their bikes, scooters, roller skates etc (with a helmet) and whizz around the yard.  Unfortunately they will not be able to ride without a helmet. We will put them in the classroom, so a padlock will not be needed.

I will send out a note to confirm the day.
