Attendance W/E Friday 21st October 2016

Our attendance this week was 92.5%

Class 15 had the best attendance in school.

Classes 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12 were all on time every day this week.

Have a lovely half term break.

Day 4 of the Bake Off – Cheesy garlic bread

On Thursday we made cheesy garlic bread.

Here is our recipe:

 

You will need:

Baguette / Part baked rolls

Butter

Garlic

Cheese

  1. Slice the baguette into round pieces
  2. Use a garlic press or chop the garlic up into small pieces and mix with the butter
  3. Spread the garlic butter over the bread
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top
  5. Bake in a hot oven until the cheese has melted

Day 3 of the Bake Off – Cheese Straws

On Wednesday we made some cheese straws.

Here is our recipe.

You will need:

100 grams (4oz) Self raising flour

Pinch of salt

Tea spoon mustard

50 grams (2oz) margarine

75 grams (3oz) grated cheese

1 beaten egg

  1. Rub flour, salt and margarine together
  2. Mix in the cheese and add egg to make a stiff dough
  3. Roll out and cut into long thin straws
  4. Place on a greased baking tray
  5. Bake at gas mark 4 / 180c / 350f for 10 to 15 minutes

Day 2 of the Bake Off – Shortbread biscuits

On Tuesday we baked shortbread biscuits.

Here is our recipe:

You will need:

300grams (9oz) plain flour

100grams (3oz) sugar

200grams (6oz) Butter / Margarine

  1. Mix flour and sugar in a bowl
  2. Rub in butter
  3. Knead well to form a smooth paste
  4. Roll out to approximately 1cm thick
  5. Cut into rounds and place on a baking sheet
  6. Bake at gas mark 6 / 200’c / 400’f for 10 minutes

These can be decorated with hundreds and thousands, chocolate buttons, a little icing or anything else creative!

Pyramid building!

This week we explored pyramid structures with a range of materials. We tried straw, pasta, pipe cleaners, wooden sticks and paper rolls to build our models. We worked together well in small teams to produce our pyramids.
