We have set up a new Parent Area in Nursery where you will be able to find any letters you would like extra copies of, the snack tin and other pieces of information. Please keep an eye out for any notices and important pieces of information that may be displayed there.
We also have our ‘Good News Board’. This is where we write about the super things that your children do at Nursery. We would love to hear about all the things your child does at home that is an achievement or something that makes you feel proud, for example writing their name for the first time, putting their own coat on, or even finishing their dinner. At the side of the board are little notices that you can write on and add to the display.
Good News Board
We can’t wait to hear some more ‘Good News.’
This term we are reading books all about Bears.
We went on a trip to the Build-A-Bear Factory in the Victoria Centre to build our own Nursery Bears. We were very lucky as lots of our mummies and daddies came with us. We got on the tram at the shops in Clifton and travelled into the city centre. For some of us it was the first time we had been on a tram.
Travelling on the tram into town.
Once we got into town, we walked to the Victoria Centre. We had to go up the escalator to the Build-A-Bear Factory.
Waiting to go inside.
Once we had picked a Bear, we had to put the stuffing inside to make him soft and cuddly. We took it in turns to push the pedal with our feet and stuff our bear.
Stuffing the teddy bear.
After he was stuffed, we were all given special hearts. We had to rub the heart on our head to make our bear clever, rub it on our nose to make him nosey and run on the spot to make him fit and healthy. Finally we had to give the heart a big kiss to make the teddy loveable and caring!
Kissing the heart to make him loveable.
We put all of our hearts into the bear and the lady stitched him up. Then we all had a turn at cleaning him and brushing him.
Washing the bear
Finally our bears were ready to take back to Nursery. We had a great day out and would love to go again!
Here are our bears being busy at Nursery!
Well done to Class 12 for making an excellent start to 2016! To start as we mean to go on, each of us have made a new personal target to challenge ourselves. We also decided on a whole class target and this term, the whole of Class 12 are going to work on improving our self-assessments. Our aim is to make sure that we explain whether we feel we are emerging, developing, securing or mastering the objective of a lesson and that we clearly state where we feel we need extra help.
Well done Class 12 – keep up the good work!
Well done Class 6! You performed the Pirate Ship Poem really well. Perhaps you could perform it to your family at home too.
Mrs Baggley and Mrs Rowe
